Today, the students and teachers of AKHSS Chitral came together to celebrate World Teachers’ Day 2024 in a grand morning assembly. The event was graced by the presence of the honorable Samad Gul, a distinguished educationalist of Chitral, who served as the chief guest and keynote speaker.

Honoring a Legacy of Education

Samad Gul, often referred to as the “Sir Syed Ahmad Khan of Lotkuh,” has made significant contributions to education in the region. With a career spanning various roles, including principal positions in Chitral, Peshawar, and Charsadda, and culminating as the District Education Officer (DEO) of Chitral, his dedication to educating generations is unparalleled. His retirement in 2008 marked the end of an era, but his influence continues to inspire.

Keynote Address: A Call for Hard Work and Responsibility

In his address, Samad Gul emphasized the importance of hard work for achieving success. He reflected on the evolving opportunities in education from past to present and highlighted the crucial roles and responsibilities of both teachers and students in the educational journey. His words resonated deeply with the audience, reinforcing the value of dedication and perseverance.

Celebrating Through Art and Expression

The students showcased their talents through a variety of performances, including speeches, essays, poetry, and a musical piece based on a poem by Grade-11 student Karam Ali Karam, dedicated to teachers. The event concluded with the presentation of a souvenir to the keynote speaker, followed by a cake-cutting ceremony in the staff room. Teachers then distributed sweets to students in their classrooms, further fostering a sense of community and appreciation.
